This is the message that started my journey to loving myself and gave me the push to start this blog!
I've always liked school but the thought of getting a doctorate was not on your girl's mind because I hated writing papers. But, after struggling to find a job and realizing how much more I wanted to know, I just knew it was the next step for me. HR is hard field to get into on its own, but when you add nepotism, elitism, and racism to it, you find out that it's damn near impossible to start your career. Especially when no one wants to retire and make way for a new generation of leadership. Yet my fight with unemployment and dedication to my dream career came together to guide me on studying the subpar employment opportuinites for minorities and how we're hired to meet the quotas, but you see less of us running the meetings!
So, as I take you on this journey, know that there will be posts that get real and sheds light on the wrongs in the academic and working worlds. But also know that there will be posts filled with stories of happiness, progress, and victories. So please, stay tune!
